Hey Girls- Start your summer off with an exciting one week FREE camp right here at Phoenix School! STEAM camp is open to all 6th-7th-8th grade girls and will run June 13-17th from 8:30-11:30 AM in our Tech Lab. You will design 5 different projects, work with wood, plastic, vinyl and metal, then create your idea on machines like the 3D printer, laser engraver, vinyl cutter and much more. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to have some fun this summer. Registration materials are located in the office or in Ms. Brown’s room 601.
Please remember: It is appropriate to have books out during lunch, before school and after school. It is NOT appropriate to have books out during class or PIE without teacher permission. If you disrupt the learning environment with your yearbook, your book will be taken away and given back at the end of that day. If it continues to be a problem your book will be taken and given back at the end of the last day of school.
When signing yearbooks, please be respectful. If you put inappropriate things in someone’s book, you will be required to buy that person a new book at the cost of $35.00.
Your name has been placed inside the front cover of your book. Please keep track of your book and enjoy the memories.
If you think that you have purchased a book and do not receive one, see Ms. Enger! Any extra books will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
We’ve been announcing every morning for the past two weeks about making sure you have money in your account. Some of you have listened and we thank you for that. But others have not. We only have 8 days of school left, so those who owe money, please pay by the end of this week. And everyone else, please check with the cashiers BEFORE you go through the line, if you’re not sure there’s money in your account to cover your breakfast or lunch. NO MORE going through the line knowing you owe money. Thank You
The following are the guidelines that staff members at Phoenix school follow when enforcing the school dress code; Shorts and skirts should come to the student’s fingertips or lower when their arms are down to their side. Students cannot wear spaghetti-strap or thin strapped tank tops, halter tops, one shoulder tops, or tube tops. Shirts should not be cut below the armpit, in the front, side, or back. All tank tops must have straps that are at least two fingers wide. Shirts must cover the student’s midriff and not show any part of their stomach. Clothing that contains inappropriate or offensive language or pictures including drug and/or alcohol references and weapons will not be allowed. Anything that can be considered distracting to learning including gang-related colors, bandanas, loud or distracting clothing will not be allowed. School administration will have the final say in this matter.
If a student is found to be wearing something that is not deemed school appropriate, the staff member will ask the student to go to the office. They will be asked to “remedy” the dress code issue. If the student refuses to change their clothing or cover up clothing, the parent/guardian will be contacted and the student will be sent home suspended for that day.
